Design for disintegration

Millions of years as oil, a few months as a water bottle, then an eternity floating around as plastic particles. The things we discard outlive us by centuries.

It is difficult to imagine any other way. Difficult; but not impossible. Dream of other worlds, and perhaps they will appear.

The project Design for Disintegration investigates biodegradable materials through the lens of speculative fiction. This bikini dissolves in water. You may compost it, or rinse it down the drain. In a future where all your objects slip through your fingers, would you try to hold on? Or would you learn to let go?
